When the search window displays it defaults to customer number – instead of customer name which is what I normally want to search on. Is there a way to change this?

There is! In the Admin Utilities go to Dimension and click to open the window. For any dimension you can select what the default search option is set to. Stratum is installed with a default of System Defined, which in most cases is the value or number. For our example – scroll down to the Customer Sold To dimension. Move over to column representing the Level – most likely also called Customer Sold To (it’s the 5th column) and click the arrow to open it up. Use the scroll bar at the bottom to move to the right side of the window. You’ll now see a drop down box as the last thing no the right – it probably says System Defined. Click on this drop down to see the selections for the default search by – Most common for Customer is to select the long description since this is the default that is displayed in Stratum.

You can do this for any dimension you have in Stratum. We most often see this for customer related dimensions. Where as the Product (or SKU or Item, whatever you call it) is often left to be the value or number. Simple easy and makes things more user friendly.
