I’m using a YTD date range of January (or the start of your Fiscal year..) to Previous Month so we see only the closed months of data as we move thru the year. What happens in the first month of the year? ‘January to Previous Month’ – this would be Jan This Year to Dec of Last year which shows up in Stratum as an invalid date range (as it should!).
Silvon did a webinar on this exact topic – below is the graphic that explains what happens. In earlier releases of Stratum there was an issue because you could not change the date range after Stratum figured out that your date range was an issue and changed it. In more current releases this restriction is removed and you can update the date range.
There has always been debate over what the ‘right’ answer is – The issue and the Stratum solution are outlined below.
