This is possible in the latest version. The business case for combining two dashboards into one that I’m aware of is:
DB1 is a dashboard that is company level and common to everyone.
DB2 is specific to the users area of responsibility – Sales, Supply Chain, Fin, Prod, etc. or unique to that user.
So…first you create the base DB’s (DB1 and DB2…[Read more]
When you filter a measure in Stratum there are 3 different types of Top counts – what are they and why have them?
Good questions we got from a customer. BTW if you didn’t get our survey on our education let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll send a link so we can get your feedback. If you did get the survey and respond thanks! If you didn’t…[Read more]
What should I include on my dashboard – Supply Chain metrics
As I mentioned in my previous post here some ideas on supply chain metrics you may want to consider. This list is in no way exhaustive but it’s a good starting point as you think thru how to better digitally manage your supply chain.
These metrics and kpi’s are sometimes a bit tougher…[Read more]
Stratum provides predefined calcs that can help out if you want to use either the total for a measure or the subtotal amount. To use the total there is a specific calc function you can use in the Stratum Viewer Functions. For the subtotal you can back into the subtotal amount from the Stratum provided % of Subtotal function. I’ve included a…[Read more]
Do invalid users and users that are marked disabled cause an impact on performance?
Not anymore! Previous versions (prior to 7.1 I think) users that were marked disabled were still processed in the post process authority (role) processing. If a user was no longer a valid user, say they had left the company and their user id was no longer valid,…[Read more]

Here’s an example of a view that shows inventory that is ‘dead’ or not moving based on 2 different business rules.
A couple of things:
1. The view only shows me my dead stock which we’ve defined as – Anything that has averaged less than 100 units moved in the last 13 weeks, or anything that has 0 movement in the last 4 weeks. Of course you…[Read more]
Percentage calculations? Those are easy too!
Following the steps in the previous post – get to the Add Calculated Measure window.
Once there in list on the left side of the window open the Stratum Viewer Functions and then select one of the percentage calcs (I copied some info from the Stratum Help): Achievement Percent: Returns the…[Read more]
Just want to add a simple calc – the difference between a couple of columns.
This is easy to do in Stratum via the Add Calculated Measure window.
1st just a little terminology – in Stratum the numbers that you report – things like Sales Amount, Units, Inv. Qty, Budget Amount, PO Qty etc are called Measures. When you want to add a calculation…[Read more]
Using the new view search feature (V7.1) or in View maintenance in the Admin group at the top right of the display is the search field – to the left of that is a drop down with Active, Inactive and All. What is Inactive vs. Active?
Got this from a customer after a Stratum Product Briefing (if you’ve not had one yet contact us and we’ll give you…[Read more]
Can I change the tab name in the browser for Stratum? – Simple answer is Yes! This question comes up from time to time. A couple of scenarios usually bring it up.
1. – You don’t call Stratum – Stratum – you call it Silvon or something else
2. – You’be got multiple instances of Stratum – Production, Dev etc.
I’m using a YTD date range of January (or the start of your Fiscal year..) to Previous Month so we see only the closed months of data as we move thru the year. What happens in the first month of the year? ‘January to Previous Month’ – this would be Jan This Year to Dec of Last year which shows up in Stratum as an invalid date range (as it…[Read more]
I think what you’re looking for can be found in the properties of the measure. If you look at the properties of the measure (right click on the measure header, last option is properties, or open the View Explorer and double click on the measure) the last property is ‘Total:’, change this from from Total (which preforms the calc for the measure)…[Read more]
What is the syntax to aggregate a sum of a measure over a dimension?
I’m trying to calculate YoY Price – Volume – Mix impact. Hierarchy is Customer, Part Number. The calculation works for every part number but the result at a Customer level is the sum of the results of each part number.
This is true – that Stratum will AND filters together by default when you specify them on the columns. But you can use filters on the Row or Columns – also called Axis Filters to OR multiple filters together. In addition with Row and Column axis filters you can use boolean logic, ‘and’ and ‘or’ multiple things together and filter on both…[Read more]
Trying to determine Dead Stock in our inventory – and we have a couple of criteria that we want to use. If I apply filters on the columns themselves Stratum ‘AND’s them together, but we want to use an OR. If this is true OR this other thing is true then this is dead stock.
This is a question that we have heard from a number of customers. The idea being that you want all your Stratum users to see a specific message today, or for a couple of days. It might be to let them know that you’ve upgraded Stratum or you’ve added new information, or maybe fixed some problem data. You might also want to display a message to…[Read more]
